Student Council provides an opportunities for members to develop leadership skills as they organize service projects for the school and community, and coordinate social activities to promote school spirit and pride. The council works through committees, each of which is responsible for a different aspect of school or community relations.

National Jr Honors Society- (NJHS) is the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serve to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character and Citizenship.

Make the Grade –An after school homework club where middle school students can do their homework or study under the supervision of a middle school teacher.

Math Counts- a nationally recognized math program that challenges middle school students to think critically by asking them to complete difficult word problems. In doing so students strengthen their understanding of mathematical situations and increase skills in problem solving, proportion, geometry, estimation, reasonableness, and number sense.

Bowling Club- An after school club that works on improving their game and bowling techniques while having fun in a social setting.

Middle School Athletics- After school sports not only help foster strong well rounded students who get to interact with other athletes from the surrounding community but also prepare them for sports in the high school setting. Many of the teams practice with the high school teams and benefit from the additional coaching and travel opportunities. The teams travel to local competitions with other DODschools and international schools in the Tokyo area.

In order for students to participate in a school sport they must have a current sports physical on file with the school nurse. A Medical Power of Attorney and an Athletic Contract must be given to the Athletic Director. All students are to maintain a GPA of 2.0 to participate with their team in competitions.
